Hi all,

just looking for some feedback,
We are moving to a new place and it is on the second floor of a building that was built in 1924.
I want to put a 120g 4x2x2 in the living room. It will be on the exterior wall and perpendicular to the floor joists. Do you guys see any problem with that?
any info/ opinions would be appreciated.

here is a picture of the living room for reference.
The outside wall is the one with the two little windows up high

I'd be a little hesitant even though its on the exterior wall and on perpendicular joists. A 120 is 1000+ lbs and being on a second floor is always a little bit more precarious. I would call somebody to check it for the peace of mind

The big issue is understanding what floor joist you have. If they are undersized or damaged due to age it can be a big issue for you.
