"Reef safe" is relative, in that some are docile (fairy wrasses) and some are great at eating pest but also will eat "good" invertebrates (Halichoeres) and some will pester other tank mates.
Over the years I've had good luck with ReefWise. If they don't have what you want they'll bring it in and put it through quarantine for you. Additionally, they are very knowledgeable about which species can be kept together, which sometimes play nice together, and which not a good idea.
