So I've been doing some "searching" because I received a frag of the RDPE as well and obviously mine looks just like yours but NOTHING like what we are finding online... Don't get me wrong, its a beautiful coral but calling it a fake.

Pretty sure I found the TRUE "source" of that colony that was 'flipped'...

You can make your own inferences...

I then asked George/FishBeard about the linage again and below is the message I got:

Victor "Trackfast" bought the colony from me and had me frag it up. If you are looking for lineage info, they go back to Brian "Skyhigh" on Reef2Reef, one of the original propagators that shared polyps from the same colony cherrycorals got their original
polyps from.

That thread on R2R is here: http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/selling-forum-livestock/76811-cherry-corals-rdpes-few-more-high.html

No where does it say anything about George getting some... plus Brian was selling TRUE RDPE 5 polyps for $800! ... George's colony was 14 polyps for $600 ... something just doesnt add up to me....

All the reading I did about the originals also said they were a very slow grower, so I find it hard to believe someone would have a colony that large

If you read through the thread he couldn't sell them for $800. Ended up selling them for less than $600 and that was shipped so its more like $540. Skyhigh obviously had some over saturation in those pics as well (look at the egg crate and the coraline on the plug).

On top of that the RDPE hype has died off significantly since January.

Just my two cents.
