I am probably 3 years behind the curve since I JUST finally ordered a 12 bulb T5 fixture for my 125 g. Maybe I will spotlight with some LED's but when I priced out LED's for my 125...ouch.

You have to look at them as an investment. Both in electricity savings and the cost of new bulbs every year. LEDS win price wise in the long run.

I just updated my BC29 Rapid LED dimmable 24 kit. The colors of the coral POP! Its amazing. I did the update for the quality not the 'money savings', but not switching out the power compacts every six months will be nice. The kit took some time to build and then install but the results made it worth it. I vote for LEDs.

I voted both T5 & LED, I LOVE T5, but recently threw a pair of Maxspect Razors over my tank, and loving the power savings over the last couple months.

Rapid LED retrofit kit for my PC Quad NanoCube... I installed the MH NanoCube retrofit kit on my PC Quad with some small modifications.

Colors on my corals have really popped since its been installed, I can only get up too about 50% otherwise coral starts to show bleaching.

D120 group buy led light on my 27 cube. Innovative marine skylight 9 led fixture on my frag tank. New 50 cube I will be using a tek 4 bulb T-5 for a couple months. Then maybe getting either an onyx fixture from rapid, a cc120p from coral compulsion, or DIY'ing one myself.

Seems LED is the overwhelming light choice. :nerd:
It is hard to argue with the results people are getting with them now. I will say Warm White and Neutral White Cree LEDs are a must if you are building your own fixture. My frag tank is getting much better coloration then my DT and I will be adding the WW and NW to the DT as soon as I can figure out a way to do so.

No, I'm not a communist..
Running 2 Lumenmax Elite reflectors 6" off my water with 2 Radium 20k's pushed by magnetic ballasts.

Here's an old pic, but the PAR values are the same....
