To Addison, $80. I'm in Westchester today, could do it after. I'd get all the dead/shedding fur off, too. Can I do it in the yard?

How about washing a husky that got hit by a skunk at 4:30am today? He's in the back yard until I can get home to deal with it.

Just venting. I really don't want to deal with it again.

Thanks, that is the stuff I already use except I also add lemon juice and pretreat with mouth wash. By the time we smelled it this morning he had already ground himself into the very wet grass, so it's gonna be a mess. I decided to wait til tonight to deal with it, it won't matter now that he's been wet.

It's a first for this dog, but our last husky got hit 3 times. D$#n dog never learned.

My dogs got sprayed last month, this worked like a charm!
4 cups-Hydrogen Peroxide
4tblsp Baking soda
1 tblsp DAWN (has to be dawn orig) dish Detergent.

mix solution. put in a water bottle with a squirt top, DO NOT WET YOU DOG WITH WATER FIRST!!!!!
soak and massage solution into dog every square inch of fur must be soaked and rubbed.
let sit for at least 15min, i did like 30min and it worked great!
rinse dog with water.
repeat as necessary (after dog dries)

i only did it once and it the smell was undetectable to me. this solution works! like i said i just used it a few weeks ago!
(ps dog was short haired and the other long haired)

It standard procedure to check, a big mag light is next to the door. Today, the first dog went out, came in and let then second dog out. 10 minutes later he found a kitty to play with.

I'll add to the procedure.

1. WEAR GLOVES!
2. Blot the oil from the fur with paper towel ASAP and before treatment. Trying to remove as much oil as possible to prevent spreading.
3. You can pretret the oil spots with mouthwash. Let it dry as it will cover a lot of the smell and help you isolate all the oil spots.
4. If the dog gets wet before treatment, the oil will work into the fur further and down to the skin, if this happens the dog will stink for several months every time they are re-wet.
5. Try to treat ASAP. The longer the oil is in the fur, the greater chance of long term smell.
