And So It Begins - Hockey Season

To many of you, yesterday was the beginning of the best season of the year, hockey season.

The Hawks are currently at 2 cup wins in 4 years, one more and they technically are classified as a legacy. Anyone think they will do it? How far do you think they will go this season?

And for those of you who missed it, here's a video of the Banner Raising Ceremony from last night.

Great way to open the season. Excellent ceremony and even better game!! They need to clean up face-offs and get better on PK's but man they looked unstoppable on offense. I see them bringing home another, baring injuries of course!!

I was actually at the game last night. My wife and good friends scored tickets when they went on sale. I can tell you, that ceremony was the most amazing thing I have ever been a part of. The opening video and lights before the video you posted above was insane. Our seats were right in front of the banner so it rose right in front of us. It was amazing and i have chills just remembering it.

They looked great last night. Not as good as they could be but they shook it off. I told my wife, imagine the emotions and focus going into that game. Normally, all they do is focus on the game. Last night they had this amazing ceremony, the player meet and greet before the game and all kinds of stuff. They couldn't focus on the game until the puck dropped.

They went nuts on that 5 on 3 PK in the third. Crawford was a beast during those few minutes.

I can't wait for this season and I think we have a great chance at back to back cups. We are basically the same team, with some improvements in the form of younger, talented players being added.

I'll never forget the energy in the building last night.

Yeah I'm jealous!! You are right though, that PK 5 on 3 was AMAZING. Sad part is, the hooking call was BS!!!! Then the youthful mistake clearing the puck lol. If we get games like that all year, WHAT A YEAR to look forward to!! I grew up in Dallas, Texas, so we did not have "real" hockey until the mid 90's when the Stars came to town. I've been in Chicago since 04 and really hated how bad they were when I first got here, but it has been awesome to watch this team grow and develop into a dynasty. If they stay healthy, nothing will stop them.

That is really awesome that you were there to witness that ceremony, it will be with you forever.

Doug, it was amazing. I'll never forget it.

I remember as a kid, nobody ever wanted hawks tickets. I regret not getting season tickets when they were dirt cheap.

I actually went to the season opener in Dallas against the Hawks in 2011. We lost. I was bummed but it was another stadium to cross off my list.

Nice!! My uncle had season tickets for the Stars for years and I got to go countless times, I still have a place in my heart for Dallas teams, but Chicago has sucked me in ;) I have yet to see a game in the Madhouse!! I should be going a few times this year, looking forward to it. Stars tickets are a third of the cost of Hawks tickets lol.

I went to a few games about 7-8 years ago where the hawks would give away tickets on craigslist. They would post on the day of the game an there were no strings attached. $0.

Now you can't get standing room only for under $200 bucks lol (well that was towards the end of last season)
