My brother n law has a hair algae problem. I told him to check his water and get some red legged hermits. But is there a better algae eater that's reef safe?

Yep..turbo snails.

how big is his tank?
if big enough, get some tangs. Turbo snails are great too, but don't get too many or they'll starve to death.

combo of a scopas or naso with a 2 bar rabbit will mow down just about every algea outside of bryopsis.

I had one of these and they are amazing. The only thing is that , when they are done with the HA they will starve to death. We should buy one and pass it around, cause I need one too.
