Worm?

Over the last day or two i have been finding little white dots stuck to the glass, they look like a little worm to me but im new to the hobby and am not sure what they are, or more important if they are bad or good?

good,most lkely they are copepods.

are they really small and spiral shaped?

yes they are small and sprial shaped and are very hard to get off the glass, i had to use a scraper to get one off and even with that took some work, looked up the copepods and they dont look like that.

I can't find the id that i used on them, but they are harmless and actually a good sign/. I was freaked out by them, but felt good when I saw the ID. I will keep looking. pileolaria maybe?

so should i just leave them alone or should i scrap them off i can see about twenty of them now that ive been looking

They don't look nice on the glass, but I'd just leave them everywhere else. When you see how fast they come and go it's pretty easy to see where all the sand comes from on the beaches of the earth (and erosion of course). From what I've read they will sort of slow down as the tank matures. I'm certainly no expert, but I do regurgitate information well
