My sand in my sump turned pink over the last two days only where the light hits it. Its a very light pink color. Not red slime algae or Coraline. It is a mature system and all water test are normal. Has anyone seen this?

Does anyone have any experience with black sand. I am setting up a 2' X 2' cube and thought it might look neat. I've heard it is magnetic so will this have a effect on invertabrates? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Marc
