Idk what this is may be fluke looking for opinions

The pic makes it hard to tell but I’ve seen similar marks on my tang (darkish center with a white border) and I think it came from either an aggressive coral sweeper tentacle or maybe even an anemone sting. The mark on my tang was gone by the next day.

    Qt setups

I actually just ran a second tank that I considered my QT. I had a 75G full reef (sump below with skimmer, etc but no corals) setup running constantly. Used it as a QT plus if I had any issues in my DT I could always move things over to it. The flexibility was nice and it worked great for years...

    300 gallon financial sinkhole

It’s funny how this 8ft tank makes me feel my 6ft is so tiny. I need to upgrade. That’s a beautiful tank. Enjoy!

    Battling Cyano...

I’ve always kept a temp around 75. I used to have a blue dot jaw fish for a couple years and ran the temp on the lower end of the reef spectrum for that reason. Never changed it I guess. What do most people run, 78? Also - I run two heaters that can back each other up if needed for a little...

    Battling Cyano...

I don’t think so. I think it just had some of my dosing chemicals in there by me being sloppy was all. But to be safe I cleared it and I’m feeding my ato from a 5 gallon jug to eliminate any potential issues.

    Battling Cyano...

Isn't the MicroBacter for starting new tanks or not necessarily?

    Battling Cyano...

Weird enough my ATO container was reading high even though I test the water that goes in. I replaced the container with a new one so I'm sure it will help the situation.

    Battling Cyano...

It's fun. I'm trying to rid my tank of a Cyano outbreak without using chemicals for the past couple weeks. My main concern with chemicals is killing off beneficial bacteria or anything else when using them. Additionally - I want to find the root of the issue and not use chemicals for a few days...

    Powder Brown Tang Aggression

Yeah - I actually think the aggression might be a little better today. Today marks one week with the tang - so it's new still. The tang isn't actively seeking out the Watchman Goby - but if the goby comes too far out he'll chase it away. So perhaps if the Goby doesn't wander too far things may...

    Powder Brown Tang Aggression

Mostly Nori as I don't want to kick up the aggression with too much meat... So I have been doing 3 or even 4 small feedings a day - one meat and the others nori. Plus I have a nori sheet on clip.

    Powder Brown Tang Aggression

Looking for some input from anyone that may have an idea! I'm running a 210g reef and recently added a powder brown tang. My tank load is light with 10 fish total - leopard wrasse, couple fairy wrasses, a clown, 4 talbot damsels, a yellow watchman goby and this powder brown tang. To make the...

Happy New Year and Some Fun Pictures

    Share your slowest growing coral.

I think I just found the answer by clicking on the grey box and it showed me all the details to your system including the AquaticLog controller.

    Share your slowest growing coral.

I was talking about the grey box showing all your parameters... KH, Mg, PO4, etc. It looks like some sort of data reporting system that is constantly monitoring your tank.

    Share your slowest growing coral.

    What's the control/reporting system you're using? I like the simple chart/data outlay!
