$150 off Radion Pro @ Marine Depot

so are these Pro's more aligned to a 250W halide? could you actually get away with 3 on a standard 180 (6ft) SPS tank? I know the old Radion's you could not

You could get away with 3 in our humble opinion with proper coral arrangement/aquascaping, but obviously 4 would be better. They are deceptively powerful. We still love our metal halide lights for growing coral like weeds—we just don't love the high electricity bills.

thanks, I love the ecotech technology, the price is getting there, but still steep, 2,250 is a lot for lighting, still hoping to find a solution under 2K, preferably 1,500.

We hear you. Heck, we started offering Bill Me Later a few years back to help make some of the more high-end equipment available to the average hobbyist. It's wonderful that AI and other lighting manufacturers—along with the DIY crowd—are working super hard to give EcoTech a run for their money. Competition drives innovation and lower pricing is often a result. There were a lot of great new products released in 2013 and we're expecting even greater breakthroughs next year. It seems brands are listening to what their customers want a lot more these days, thanks in part to direct communication through social media. And hobbyists are a smart crowd: if a product they want isn't on the market, they'll often invent it. It's a good time to be an aquarium hobbyist!
