2 Part (Worth it for me?)

I'm just curious on the consensus on dosing 2 part in a tank as small as 28g. I am doing 5 gallon water changes every week and I am seeing pretty healthy signs on most of my frags, but BRS is having a sale on 2 part and I thought I might give it a try to get my coraline moving a little faster and color up some of my stuff (these 89w LEDs seem pretty harsh on everything). Is dosing 2 part silly with the WCs I am doing? Thanks in advance.

Test your calcium and alk,if water changes keep your parameters stable there's no need,if your alk drops a bit and calcium aswell, then it's time for 2-part.

IMO, that small of tank... I say no as your weekly WC well help to keep things balanced. Don't mess with it if ain't broken ;)

Thanks guys. I thought that might be the case when I noticed that you mix the dose in 1 gallon jugs. That would probably be 10 years worth of dosing for me. Any suggestion on smaller scale supplements if I notice anything low. Right now my Cal and Alk are all dialed in, but I don't have a mag test kit. I added Kent buffer max once and have never had anything but 8.4 since.

Brightwell Aquatics, MCF sells it, I do a 3g change weekly and I have never needed to dose calcium, once in a while I do need to put one dose of alk in(I dont understand why its randomly that it needs to happen, I guess usage is slightly higher than what goes in?) but I do dose with Mg weekly as mine is always low.

I have a 40 breeder that is sps dominated, my salt mixes to 460 calcium, 8.5 dkh alk, 1340ish mag and 8.2 ph and yes i do have to dose. I do 6 gallon water changes every 5 days but my sps and 1 maxima clam suck up calcium and alk fast. If you are not doing mainly sps you can probably get away with just the water changes without a need to dose.
