30g HOB filter

Hey guys so I got a 30g that I was using for freshwater a year ago and had been sitting for some time now. And I was wondering what you all think about using it for a saltwater setup. Like I'm going to be using the same hang on back filter just not sure what I should put in the filter. I know I read somewhere alot of people did it with HOB filter and made it work just wondering what you all think. And any tips or advice would greatly help thanks

My first tank 125gals with fresh water then I converted to saltwater with eheim filters no problem at all
Just wondering make sure your fresh water tank is not any copper in there.
 
Did you out anything in your filter like carbon or any kind of media

I was keep all carbon in eheim filter but hard to maintain during water changed then I switched to wet and dry filter and alot of lives rock from person in this forum.
