I have been following some threads on the use of AI Hydra lights. There seems to be no real consistent info to conclude much from. Size of tank. Type of reef. ht above the tank. light settings. How many lights. Hydra or Hydra 52 lights.
If your tank is over 30 inches deep-use a Hydra 52 light. Under 30" use a regular Hydra light. No need to spend the extra money.
Use 1 light per every 2 ft of bottom surface. I have a standard 125. 6 ft long. so I use 3 Hydra lights.
I hang my lights 12 inches above the surface.
My system is a mixed reef favoring LPS and shrooms. There is a little bit of sps.
My lights come on at 9:30 am ramp up 4 hours.
Ramp down 4 hours at 6 pm

I don't use the lunar cycle since my reef is in my bedroom and I don't want the lights on at night.
