Algae Scrubber?

The more I read about them the more I like the idea but do they really work as well as some people say they do? From what I've read so far in this forum the feelings about them seem to be mixed.

If you have used or are using one now what are the pros and cons?

I've used one. It's a great tool, and a very focused refugium basically. I still ran my skimmer, and it still skimmed, so I don't think it should be used to replace a skimmer or anything like that. No reason to let poop linger longer than it needs to. However, if you don't have room for a fuge or don't want one, this is a GREAT way to filter your tank. it takes some tweaking to get it just right though.
