This is an amazing HOB filter. In has the normal water intake, a surface skimmer, a foam filter with carbon pellets, and a UV sterilizer. $60.00 on Amazon, which is the same cost of a independent UV sterilizer.
This took my reef tank, which was slowly losing is battle with slime algae, and brought it back to clarity in 48 hours and wiped out all traces of cyano!
I was pulling the rock and scrubbing it in old water, blasting the sand, scrubbing the glass and then vacuuming, cut feeding down to 3x a week, was doing weekly 15% water changes, and have an army of assorted snails and crabs (all algae eaters). Could not beat it.
Tossed in this filter w/ a the BioCube Protein Skimmer and it looks like im looking through a glass tank with air because of clear it is.
BTA which i was debating to toss (was about dead), back in bloom, zoas are shrinking in height and opening, torch coral slowly spreading back out, and the pipe organ is finally opening again.
That protein skimmer aided in pulling so much green/brown sludge out, it was unbelievable!
In summary, if you running a nano w/ a hob, get the AquaTop PF-UV series filters and the BioCube Protein Skimmer. 12" in height is required. Im running a 15g, 24wx12.5hx12d
