Birdsnest tip turned white

Woke up yesterday to find my ORA Orange/Green Tip Birdsnest had fallen from its wedge in the rock work and dropped to the sand. Later in the day I noticed some fading in one of the tips, and this morning found that area turned completely white. The base of the area still has polyps while the tip does not. Should I assume this is just damage from the fall and sitting in the sand or should I be looking for a bigger issue? The white area does not appear to be spreading, yet. New SPS keeper so I'm paranoid.

I would leave it alone for right now; it's probably just stressed out. If you do see the white spreading then I would cut off that section.

Just cut the dead tip off it will be fine if u leave tip algae will grow in it abd look ugly

Ended up leaving it alone since it didn't look like it was spreading. Looks good, polyps at the base might be coming back.

Yea, the tip was definitely there and covered in polyps before. Just damage I think. The tip may have buried in sand for up to 8 hours over night until I found it in the morning.
