Everything goes pretty quick there. It's best to preorder. Last time I went with my 10 yr old daughter and it was a mad house.

I picked up a nice Silver Arrowana from Prime Aquatics last year at the swap, and a few angels for my brother. I just wish they had more Central and South American cichlids at the swap. Mostly Africans.

these are fantastic events, I have many fond memories of going to auctions with daddy when I was young.

I ran into a guy who used to work for me when I ran the fish dept at
Animal Kingdom. I was 19 & he was 15. He said I haven't changed a bit!

Had a blast! Spent way too much $$$--every penny I brought & then went to the car to clean out my wallet. At least I didn't go to the cash station in the lobby...

Best thing I bought was a Gold Nugget pleco for$50. Got a Vampire pleco (L40), pair of King zebras (L340), Snowball pair (L201), Red-line cory pair, a Four-lined Pimodella, school of 5 cories, bright orange crayfish, and about 40 red ramshorn snails.

Also, a very interesting fish: Honeycomb tatia.

There was a specific pleco guy there who I blow most of my $$$ on. He looks like he's been following the Grateful Dead around for years & smells like he hasn't taken a bath in the same.

Next swap:
Greenwater Aquarist Society, March 25
Apollo Park
12521 S Kostner
Alsip

There is another swap at the location I just visited, in April: http://www.gcca.net/component/eventbooking/?task=view_event&event_id=21&Itemid=641

I also got bulk frozen fish food for a great price there!
