Clownfish Compatibility?

Hi, I got a new clown today and she is the same size as the clown already in my tank. The one in my tank used to be a male, but has been alone for about 4 months now.

Will there be a problem with them living together as they are roughly the same size?

Both female would equate to issues. Both males would likely not but could still present aggression issues.
So I put her in there and they immediately started going at it and wouldn't let up so I took her out after 5 minutes and returned her. Guess they were both females!

Do you think I would have more luck introducing a significantly smaller one?

It depends on the species. Some maroon, tomato, cinnamon, etc. will never accept a mate. They do best with a breeder box intro. Most occelaris and percula have no problems.
