Considering Clam

So, as the title says im starting to consider getting a Derasa or squamosa clam. Which one would be more forgiving? Also, would a squamosa clam be ok laying on a sandbed? Also, would a longspine urchin eat and/or knock over the clam constantly? The tank is run by two DM-155e LEDs by Reef Radiance. The clam would be centered in a 55, or right in between the two lights. I run them at 60% for both the blues and the whites. Would i need more light? Thanks for all advice, here's a link to the lights:

Well I got a blue squamosa when it was less than 1" big. Most people say you need to take it out of the tank and feed it in phyto and tank water every few days since it was still a baby. I've done it maybe 10 times in the last 2 ish years. Now it's 3" big and doing awesome. I built my own LED light but it is very very very similar to those. I've kept the squamosa on my on the top of the tank for a while because I needed easy access to remove it from the tank to feed. But for the last few months I let it stay on a little rock in the sandbed and it's still doing great.

Anywho... my point is yes those lights will work! Go for it.

Alright thanks for the advice, i think i may get a squamosa soon

I was lucky to pick up a blue squamosa a few years ago and found a huge difference in ease of care of the squamosa vs. Croceas and Maximas I've kept in the past. I bought it small, maybe 2" and now it's about triple that size. It's been sitting on my sandbed under t5s the whole time and I've never done anything special for it besides coral food for the whole tank. Growth really took off when my SPS crashed and it's been thriving ever since. Love it!

Ive had luck with Derasa clams as well and I had some crappy tanks in the past with normal output t5's, don't even know if they make those anymore lol. Basically same as above both are pretty hardy species.
