So I just purchased a new tank(jbj 45g rimless, really liked the way it looked), and my last tank had a crashed due to a stuck on heater. I will be purchasing a controller for this tank and wanted some personal feedback on reefkeeper elite/light and the apex jr. Open to other suggestions as well. Other equipment currently is as follows
Kessil light
MP10
2 pumps in the overflow area
Heater

Welcome to ChicagoReefs!

There are fans of both the reefkeeper and apex. The reefkeeper is easier as the programming is more basic, but that is also it's limit. If you ever want to get into more advanced control, the apex is the way to go. Both are solid products. The customer service of the two companies cannot be compared. Neptune Apex has stellar customer service as they will even remote into your controller to help you with problems, the same cannot be said for the reefkeeper.

I have a RKL and I love it but you try looking at a reef angel too. Can't go wrong with any of them.

I really like my rkl. Can do everything that I need it to. The rkl is limited by the amount of modules it can handle so often people like to go with the rke

thanks for the feedback decided to go with the Apex neptune controller. I liked the net features as well as the ability to create sunrise and sunset with my Kessil light. Im sure I will be asking for some help and tips when it arrives!

I've had my ups and downs with rke. It's worked well for the most part (had some issues setting up the net) . My sticking issue with Digital Aquatics has been customer service. There us great support on the DA forum but the companies actual customer service is lacking. However, if I had to start it all over I think I'd still consider the DA Archon over the Apex.
