my blue hippo tang has 2-3 white spots on it. I have had the tang for a month or so. I added several new fish over 2 weeks ago antithesis, cleaner wrasse, pair of pajama. all other fish seem fine with no spots . there are 15 fish in my 150 with a 40 breeder attached to it in the basement with 4 fish and 100 gal sump with 60 gallons of water in it.I added ich attack tonight when i got home from work(this has worked for me in the pass) I feed the fish a mixture of mysis, rods, and spectrum A with garlic. Is there any other disease that starts like ich white spots?
thank you

If you look real close, do the white spots look like tiny cotton balls? They could be bacterial especially if on the fins. How's the breathing?

I looked today to get a picture and all the white spots are gone. I will look again tonight. spots were on the body, didn't see any on the fins. breathing is normal.

Sometimes I see white spots and they turn out to be little particles of sand (or something else) and they stick to the fish but then fall off. If it was crypt, I wouldn't expect to see the spots heal in a day without copper. Even when I've used copper it still takes a couple of days for the spots to disappear and heal. I'm guessing it's not ich.

My Hippo gets white spots when I forget his norry the picky turd. They always go away after he sucks down a good portion of algae. I use algae with garlic added.
