Dumb question -plexi glass

Will plexiglass (like they sell at any home improvement store) work for sump baffles/dividers and overflows? Or will it degrade over time?

It will be just fine. Make sure to use .220" thick thou since it is strong enough to keep from flexing with water pressure.

Another tip is to lightly sand every surface where silicone will be applied. It will adhere much better.

I would spend the money on some cast acrylic from Streamwood plastics. Prices are comparable to the junk they sell at the hardware store and it will last a lot longer (17 times stronger).

Thanks...I'm not too concerned about the strength as it will only be a 30 gallon sump and there shouldn't be that much pressure on it (and I was able to obtain a bunch for free!)
