Easy way to donate help to Japan

I know everyone here has heard about what is going on in Japan. If you are concerned and wish to help, you can text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to help. Red Cross guarantees that 91 cents of each dollar will go directly to the tsunami victims. Def a good way to lend a hand.

Just curious as to why? How would one know that if they donated to the American Red Cross their money would go to Japan?

There are scams going on for European Red Cross & many other supposed rescue organizations. ARC is on the up & up.

Not arguing that the ARC is on the up & up. But if you donate to them how do you determine that all of your money is going to Japan and not some other cause?

The 90999 number is for sure the American red cross, don't worry about that. There were some scams during the Haiti disaster involving "knock-off" red cross companies. These usually worked via bogus websites mimicing the real ones.
