electrical leak in my tank

im 99.9% sure its my mag 9.5 return pump.

though the only testing ive done so far is to put my hand in the water, feel an bit more "sting" through an open cut then normal. then turn off my pump, and not feel as much as a sting.

as for now, i disconnected the return pump. i'll try some experimenting tomorrow.

i guess it will be time to test out BRS's exchange/return policy. bought the pump on 03/14/11.

Call and talk to Ried. That's who helped me with my return. He's a bit slow to respond but has customer service in mind. Lou is an idiot.

You should consider a grounding probe. Its inexpensive and they work, lots of tanks have stray voltage, and it could be from a combination of equipment, even small amounts of voltage can affect fish health.

ill look into that, didn't know they existed.
as of now, thanks to Ecotech, the only actual cords in my tank are from my submersible heater and the mag 9.5. really wish i had done my original idea and gone with an external return.

Electrical leak is a major issue I had three in my time all heaters. Stealth submersable heatr. 1 was 30 breaded two in my 210. Bit more then a sting. All three made a pop when fingers hit water. Actually fried a baby naso and two clowns in my breeder. Good luck when u taste copper good chance u got a good shock. Lol. Not funny but all u can do is laugh after u make sure heart still beating.
