EShopps 120 Cone Skimmer Pump question

I bought a 120 cone skimmer and put it online in late November. Yesterday out of the blue I noticed my skimmer had quit running yet it was still plugged in. I removed the skimmer and checked everything and put it back in the sump. Plugged it in and all was fine...........for about 5 minutes and it stopped again. Took it back out, tore it apart checked and cleaned everything, reinstalled it all back into the sump and it works perfectly. Five minutes later it stopped again.......take apart repeat process and plug it in, it works and stops a couple minutes later. This time I just let it set for a few minutes unplugged and plug it back in and it works again......for a couple minutes and stops.
It seems as if it is getting hot or something causing it to stop running but to the touch it isnt hot. the impeller is completely smooth and rotating freely. Nothing obviously wrong that I can see.
Any one have any suggestions or is the sicce sk 200 pump notorious about this? or just a P.O.S. ?????
 
No I haven't yet. I did call where I bought it from and it is under warranty so I think I will just have to make a trip into the city to replace it.
