Filtration media

Sonfor my little 8g tank I'm trying to figure out what to use as filtration media. In my 12 gallon cube I only ever used a bag of chemipure. Nothing else ever. I'd like to hear what your suggestions are tho. I have a small HOB filter and also there is a small chamber built in the corner to put somthing in.

Chemipure Blue was released recently. It's like having Chemipure Elite + Purigen. At Aquatic Experience, I talked to one of the reps and they are going to release nano 5g packets of Chemipure Blue soon. It's a tiny packet, maybe 1.5" by 1.5". He said it's better than Chemipure Elite, and one nano packet will be enough for 5-10 gallons for 1-2 months.

For my 12g and 5g, I run Seachem Matrix Carbon + Seachem Phosguard in my own media bag.

How about just some filter floss in the empty chamber of your HOB filter? It would help remove larger particles of waste.

I would go with filter floss and chemipure. The filter floss would remove larger particles of waste and the chemipure would be good for dissolved waste and phosphates. I think chaeto is more effective when it has some movement.
