foxface in trouble!

so i get home from work today, feed the fish per usual. then take a glance in the tank and i see my foxface stuck up against one of my mp10's (hes done this before but never for as long). instantly i lower the power down and he shakes loose.

now im guessing he was stuck there for some time because the side of his body that was up against the powerhead has indentations. soon as he gets free he kinda sinks to the sand and was breathing very rapidly. after about 20 min of me watching him pant, he gets up and swims to the corner of my tank where he again lays on the sand and pants. in the last 2 hours hes swam a bit and changed locations in the tank, but always reverts back to laying on the sand panting.

the lights are now off and hes in his "usual" sleeping spot. he seems to be swimming fine, when he chooses to. is there anything that can be done for him or should i just wait it out and keep monitoring his lively hood?

i think tomorrows feeding will be extra large.

I think he is just super stressed out and traumatized, and don't thing there is anything you can do. I'd just watch him and if he make it through the night he should make a full recovery.

If he was stuck to a powerhead it is unfortunately likely that he is already doomed. Healthy fish don't get stuck to powerheads. Hopefully he does recover though, stranger things have happened in this hobby!

Hold out hope! One day I heard a bad sound from my MJ900 return on my nano cube and I discovered my firefish bent in half and sucked into the pump! I got him out and put him in a diy salad bowl QT for a while where I helped him to swim around a little and then I put him back in the 12 with not much hope. Today he is darting around my 90 gallon having no sign of ever having the accident! SO.....long story short I'd like to put my money on the fact that your fox will be OK!

Good luck, I hope he makes it!

Hopefully he recovers, I had a yellow tang do that once also, and he survived. So good luck.
