Getting Back into the Hobby / Lighting Questions

Two weeks ago I finally moved my tank over to my new house and my interest in the hobby is back. It fell to the side for the past year and a half because the greatest thing in the world happened to me, I became a father. Now that the tank is in my house (previously at my ma’s) I am more interested now than I think I have ever been. It no longer feels like a chore because its in my house and I don’t have to travel anywhere to perform the maintenance. Unfortunately due to the lack of premium care a lot of my corals took a beating. Most of them are still alive and kicking but some really good ones are gone. I know this has nothing to do with the lighting question but I wanted to give a little back story to explain my absence and to say hello again.

How many of you run led’s with T5 supplement? The reason I am asking is because I had two Led fixtures sold to me by a local company Coral Compulsion and I never really have been happy from switching over. Its not they are bad I think they are great however I always felt like something was missing. So when I finally got the tank moved over I found my old 4 bulb t5 fixture buried in some junk and ended up hanging it behind my leds. The bulbs are pretty old but I don’t think I used them for longer than 3 months, do you think should I replace them? Currently there are two ati blue plus’s and two AtI aquablue specials, should I get anything different like the ATI Purples? I ran them today for an hour with all four on and absolutely love the way it looks so far but I open to trying alternate bulbs. The next question I wanted to ask after I get the bulb colors settled was how long do you think the t5’s should be ran for? I have a controller so I can set them to turn on at different times throughout the day.

I look forward to getting back into the hobby and learning with you all again.

Thank you in advance!
