I've am running my Vertex GFO doo dah and have phos ban in it.... it is tumbling OK
the phos ban was put into the unit YESTERDAY
my EXIT water is .66 phosphate as measured by HANNA
being pushed thru the reactor by mag 5 pump, valved down quite a bit

WTF ????

what's the deal ? what did I do wrong... shouldn't the exit water be like ZERO phosphate ?

Broose

What is the water in the DT measure before? It won't strip it to zero in one pass if it is really high to start. But will just keep getting lower over time.

.72 is entry measurement maybe I need a GIANT GFO reactor... my 360 gal tank probably needs it
it's FISH and coral and my wife feeds the CRAP outta the fish

or just more time , keep an eye on the level and replace media when exhausted . honestly its prolly better off you remove po4 little at a time stripping it all out at once may cause issues

Agree with lunacris...don't overreact, you are under 1, so you are largely only risking algae growth at that number...and taking it down too fast can cause big problems.

How much GFO did you put in the reactor? Test every couple of days and change it out when the numbers stop dropping.

I dont think it would be zero its not a r/o unit like they said should keep going down little by little

Give it time, sometimes in this hobby things take a long time and sometimes it can happen really fast , it may take weeks to get it to an acceptable level, if this is I fish only tank you may always have a higher po4, it's a self discipline problem it took my father months to listen to me and stop feeding so much and now it's a beautiful tank with a ton of happy fish. Just my opinion
