I got a Ghost Ribbon Eel from Sho Tank last weekend. Matt said they eat Krill but so far it hasn't gone towards the Krill I put in front of it. I've tried dried and frozen Krill. Any suggestions/tips?

Was he eating krill at the store? I read you can try ghost shrimp to get them going then switch to frozen krill etc.

I have a pair and feed them frozen silversides, eat cut raw shrimp too if theyre being extra finicky. Once one ate the other did

I didn't think to ask Matt. Since he said they eat Krill I assumed he had been feeding them that. I'll call him tomorrow and ask.

I can try the Ghost Shrimp!

So far I haven't seen him eat anything. He is swimming around which makes me think he is looking for food. The problem is PetSmart hasn't been stocking Ghost Shrimp for a few weeks now. I probably shouldn't worry but I am.

Try a piece of sliced raw shrimp it worked for me also use feeding thongs so you can make it wiggle a little bit in the water.... DO not use your hand for this TRUST ME !!!

I've had black and blue ribbons always got
Them to eat small silver side use feeding stick
And wiggle it infront of his head he'll grab it

Hah! I was just coming back to this thread to say I found out that he LOVES silversides!

ghost ribbons and black/blue are different animals. ghost ones are more like a traditional eel. black/blue have a very different face. i have had both. both eventually took to small silversides and jumbo Mysis. the ghost ribbons I was able to train in a couple days to a few weeks. my black ribbon took a few months. be patient and feed live ghost shrimp in the mean time
