Hey so anyone else haveing issues with there hanna alk checker . I got the replacement recalled solutions opened about month ago read 8.5 right where i like it now i test at 5 i can tell u from experiance of being at 5 before im not at 5 so the solution is bad again i tested the checker it self with calibration kit and the checker is fine so gotta be fluid . For the amount these stupid pos testers cost and how the advertise how much more accurate they r then othe test i should sue the sons of bietches for false advertisment any way rant over just wish i can chuck it at there heads same with there pos phosphate checker that always reads zero . Zero my arse im about as happy with them as some of u guys and that santamonica pos products i guess at least my checker dont rust lol
 
I've never had an issue as far as i can tell. If u want bring over some water and i'll compare it to mine. I do agree with the Phos checker. Mine always reads zero lol

I checked it with butches today read 7.5 which sounds way better and makes more sense . Ron had same issue bot so much tester its self more the dam reagent once u open em dont last long after this one is month old only so one dam test lol

Tester is fine i checked it with a calibration kit and was spot on its the stupid fluid they sent me i thought same as u so first thing i did was clean then calibrate it
 
Store the reagent bottles upright so the liquid cannot come in contact with the cap. If you store them horizontally (like one would assume is correct based on the packaging of the kit) the reagent will degrade more quickly. This has been confirmed even with the replacement reagents that hanna has been sending out.

Phosphorous is definitely the right test for our hobby purposes. With the margin of error on the kits and the calibration point of the unit the accuracy at the low levels we want to measure would be questionable. It's similar to calibrating a refractometer with RODI instead of 35ppt solution.

Really thought was because of tin foil now they use plastic wtf i keep in box so they always lating down ugh

Lol i used his alk hanna tester i havnt tested phosphates in yrs used ny tester twice said zero both times i laughed put it back in box and said that was waste of money lol . I only test cal and alk rest i cant care less about u know that

Thats where i got original from ebay then they sent replacements from recall . Do u store upright like skull says or do u store in box like me ?

My ALK never down lower than 7 always from 7.8 - 8.5 depend on how I tune the CALR. I put the bottle lay down inside the Hanna ALK Tester Box so always sideway position for years.

Idk why nine went bad then pos i guess lol
