Help with retrofit lights

Hi can anyone tell me how to wire a retrofit light to a lamp cord. I ordered a light and thought it had the cord and to my surprise it just has two wires coming out of the fixture. I was looking online and found the cords to order, but have no idea how to connect them. This fixture has two wires.

you can buy a cord any where ace, home depot, Menard's connect the white wire to white and the black to black with wire nuts or butt connectors if cord has a green wire attach it to something metal on the fixture if it does not have a ground screw (green screw)
