is this normal for a midas

I got a midas blenny but soon as I put in in the tank after acclimating it shot to the bottom and is hiding ... it looks like its breathing heavy... I hope it will be ok

totally normal, took about a month before mine would come out other than feeding time

If you acclimated correctly it's kinda normal . New fish hide until they feel safe .

it drip acclimated for an hour .. ... I feel a little better

Mine has been in the tank almost a year now and hides in his little cave all the time. When he's real nervous you can't even see him poking his head out. Totally normal reaction, especially for a Midas.

Sounds pretty normal to me too.
I Just added one to my tank about 2 months ago. He was under a rock for 2-3 days, then moved up to a hole and stayed in there for a few more days. Then slowly out more and more. Now he is probably in his hole for 1/3 of the day, and out and about the rest. Previous Midas Blenny experiences have been the same.
Great and hardy fish. One of my favs.
