Kalk stirring setup

So I am looking at buying the Reef Octopus KS-100 Kalk Stirrer. I want to set it up with the JBJ ATO. I am wondering what a good pump would be for this setup. Would the aqua lifter have enough power to pull from the reservoir and then push the water through the stirrer and out to the sump? It seems doubtful but since it takes that 1/4" tubing I didn't know what else to use unless I can get an adapter to reduce the pump output tube (~1/2 " ID) down or something. Been doing research and nobody seems to use anything but small dosing pumps. Thanks guys.

Interesting. I guess I will try it but my big concern is that it will have to pull from the bottom of my res (~ 2') and then push the top off water down to the inlet (~2`) and then up through the reactor and out to the pump (~1`). That just seems like a lot for the aqua lifter IMO. Do you know if there is any other pump that can be jimmied to work? Thanks.

your aqualifter should be fine for that, with the small tubing it has better pressure.
my calcium reactor is fed by one 24/7 and usually i get 3-5 years out of them,,since they are cheap i always keep a new spare on stand by, but rarely have to change it out, pretty amazing little pumps really.
mine goes up/down about 20 inches over my sump wall

if you want better quality can use something like a dosing pump/ litermeter pump if you want top notch.. they will pump against more backpressure and last longer.
