i just had a question regarding the led colors. do the Violet 420nm leds look the same as the blues to our eyes or is there a noticeable difference?
 
True violet leds (390nm-430nm) should appear purple and dimmer than other leds to the naked eye. There are however some others, usually referred to as just "violet" or "purple", which are usually a more narrow spectrum like 420nm-430nm or 430nm-450nm. These others are not always apparent to the naked eye, however usually if you take a picture of them with a properly white balanced camera in a lighted room, you will be able to see that they appear more purple than royal blue leds.
