Lights for refugium

So my 24" T5 was setup for frags, 3 blue plus and a 6700

What do I want for refugium to grow plants and bugs?

I use a cheap home depot clip on light with a plant light. It grows my cheato like crazy.

I'm now using one of CoralCompulsion.com's par30 fuge lights. I have used 3 different CFL bulbs and the JBJ nano-glow fuge light, and I can already tell in a week that the color combo in Jimmy's fuge light is growing chaeto like crazy!

Also use clip on with plant bulb and chaeto grow well.

+1 I always make sure it says 6500k

Menards sells the flourescent bulb 23 watts = 100 watts at 6500k and my fuge is dense like a forest.

I use the 5000k 15w Par30 LED bulb from Home Depot and works GREAT was like $36 and 3 year warranty

Do find this to be exceedingly better than a regular 6500 cfl...? Because at that price it should come with a happy ending if it isn't

In all honesty I do think so. The color and growth under this light kicked the heck outta the cfl it replaced. $36 with a 3 year warranty and 10 year life expectancy really isn't crazy at all. We have all probably spent more on a single coral or fish that didn't make it. Plus being a directional multi chip diode, there is less light loss and more efficiency than an omnidirectional clf design.

Bought a 23 watt. 6500k cfl from manards hope it works
