Lionfish Shown to Tolerate Freshwater

Absolutely horrible!!! When I was diving in Grand Cayman, 3 years ago, they were everywhere, even in a PVC pipe, 20 feet from shore. One divemaster on each dive was actually spearing them for whatever GC's Dept of Wildlife is. Very sad.

So basically, my dreams of having an almost freshwater lionfish tank is possible? Sounds like a plan to me.

But seriously, this is really bad news for the people trying to stop these invasive fish. I hope there is a special place in hell for the asshats that released those lionfish into the oceans to begin with.

The most widely accepted theory of how the lionfish ended up there is a tank/tanks that got flooded or overturned during one of the larger Florida hurricanes.

Yea I know, but I guarantee there was at least 1 person who was probably like hmm, lionfish live in oceans, so I'll just dump it in there cause it's too big.
