Medusa Temp Controller

So I recently upgraded from a 75 to a 105 and something happened durring the swap. My Medusa temp controller worked to the T on the 75 3 days ago and now hooked up and running on the 105 its jumping about a degree each way like every second the temp is jumping one way or the other it is staying within a degree each way but it keeps kicking on and off the heater and chiller every other minute annoying as can be and im sure not good for the 2 to be battling and switching on and off so much. When I take the probe out of water it stays constant but in water goes crazy???? think i somehow damaged the probe durring? I even tried recalibrating it and nothing. Anyone have this happen ever?

my jbjtruetemp just started doing that a few days ago. . . because I crushed the probe wire with the lid on my tank (After 9 months of being really careful not to do that). check you connections and the probe. I think they all fail eventually and moving it might have been the final straw. My temp readout was walking up and down randomly like it was posessed.

turns out I must have a electrical issue with my 2x55w actinic lights!!! when i turn the halides on only its fine, add the night light fine, soon as you add the actinic to the deal it starts jumping so must be sending a slight electrical current into the water. I picked up some replacement recepticles of course i grabbed the 4 pin straight conectors instead of the 4 pin square like I currently had so i either need new recepticles to wire in or just make the jump to the straight pins and eat 2 week old bulbs. The old ones are corroded as can be and falling apart so hopefully this fixes the issue

What fixture do you have ? Cause I have a 48" coralife : 2 - 250w 14k , 2 - 96w actinic , 4 moonlights and I had a similar problem with the actinics . All of the other bulbs worked good but when the actinics came on , it would pop the circuit breaker, I changed the bulbs and Bingo Bango!

I have a custom built hood to match my antique stand, has 2- 250w 14K, 2- 55w actinic u shaped bulbs, and only one 60 w red bulb for night i wuld have to check the ballasters to see exactly what brands they are i just think the connections were too old when the old bulbs were in they like melted into the connections so when i changed them last week it messed them up pretty good i need to pull the hood off tomorrow and strip the wires and put these new connections on and hopefully it was just too much moisture in there causing the electric to arc and pull to much power off the rooms breaker causing the medusa to go nuts thanks what im hoping atleast we will see and ill check the brands tonight when i get in there
