More LED light issues

So there must be something in the air right now, but one of my LED channels will not turn on either! I woke up this morning to one of my two Chinese LED fixture's blue channel not being illuminated. The power light is lit and the fun is on, just no light output. Can somebody help walk me through how to diagnose this problem?

I recently bought these fixtures from steveo9043, who in turn had bought them from maidia's groupbuy a year or two ago.

Check the leds. If one goes out the whole channel will go. My issue is from the driver getting wet but from what I have been reading check all the leds

Sorry to sound like a total newbie here, but how do I check the LEDs? Do I need to buy an LED tester?

Yes buy a multi-meter with a diode mode. Just go through one by one and test them. Also there is a +and- side to them. Be sure to look close for it. Then just replace the LED.

You don't need a meter. Just take the light apart so you can get to the diodes. Then take a short length of wire and bridge the solder points of each diode one at a time. When the string lights up, you've found the bad diode. Replace it. You can buy them on reef breeders for $1.50 ea or I'm sure someone on here has some spares. I do, but I'm out of blues right now. You do need a soldering iron, but you can buy one for $15 or borrow one.

Use and 3 or 6,9v adapter (phone adapter) to test the diode, that what I test...Take the optics out (if there are optics) sometime you can see the diode look like dark brown or black then may is that one.

Yea just bad led gotta test all individual leds on blue channel if one is bad they all go im in river grove and had blue leds if u want to bring by one night

Side note when i bought replacements on ebay like 50 leds for 13$ they came with two filiments in the diode and seems to help this issue had few blow and rest still lite up ususally only one filiment blows so the other lets the power pass through

Okay thanks everyone. Luckily I had a multimeter tucked away in storage, and I just went through all the LEDs. Yup, one blue led is out.

Hey Joe, I'd love to take you up on that, since I have no idea what I'm doing here.

Generally those imports last about two years. Yes you can replace and solder some of the LEDs depending on the type.

You can test the individual LEDs with a VOM meter
