MP10 Placement

Hello,

I am re-building a tank that I plan to dedicate to SPS only. The dimensions are 36"x18"x20" I have 2 Mp10Ws and was wondering about placement. When these bad boys work in tandem am I suppose to have one on each side facing in, or both of them on the back wall? I need heavy flow for the SPS and am going to aquascape an elevated "island" in the center with plenty of swimming room around it. I figured if I put one on each side I could create a flow around my island.

Thanks

That's the way vortech recommends you do it. On my 45 I have 2 mp10s on either side they are offset to provide more flow. One is lower toward the front and the other is higher toward the back. You can do side and back placement too but the waves will be much more structured side to side. I absolutely love having the two working together.

my tank is 48x18x20 and i also have 2 mp10wes's. I have them 3/4 way up on each side on NTM slave mode. I get a nice wave and great flow. there at about 90%. SPS love it! I might try offsetting them like Herbie said.

Yeah I had them directly opposite before and find I get better random effect with them slightly offset. I also wanted one a little closer to the back to further reduce potential dead spots. Seems to work great and my fish LOVE playing in the gyre which ends up right in the middle
