MP10 Problem

My Vortech MP10 assembly is hardly rotating inside the tank, and I have no idea why. I've vinegered and cleaned the assembly and it seems to be in fine working order. I even ran it dry through a piece of cardboard and it spun perfectly. But when I put it in the water and attach the sides through the glass, it hardly moves. Any thoughts?

How thick is your tank glass? MP 10 has a limit on thickness to work properly. Did you just get this pump or you had it for a while and was working fine before?

Glass is relatively thin (6mm -- ecopico). I bought the pump new a couple years back from Foster & Smith. I just can't figure out why it'll run through cardboard but not glass.

when you said cleaned it .. did you actually open the wet side and clean it ??

Yes. Opened up the wet side as instructed on their youtube vids and cleaned it.

Hmmm may be open it again and clean it with water this time ? or if you are in the city and want to drive it over we can see it on my tank.

I figured it out. The propeller came unglued from the magnet. Apparently I need either a new magnet assembly (MP204 = $32) or I can try to repair it myself with glue. I have a feeling I'm just gonna get the new assembly.

Go the new assembly route and eliminate future headaches GLWF

I decided to try Krazy glue and it's working like new. Propeller had come off clean from the magnet, so it was easy.
