My lighting

So after wondering why my corals weren't growing or coloring well I broke down and bought a par meter. Best investment I've done. If your not sure what quality of lighting your under rent buy borrow or steal a par meter. I was running 3 hydra 26 10 inches off water. I was barely getting 200 on top ledges. I have added a 175w mh and 2 hydra 52 and finally getting the numbers my SPs need. Anyone need a reading I would be happy to help out.

Yea par meters a good tool to have im amazed how many prople drop big coin on some equipment like mp40 or what not but hesitate to buy a par meter i use mine every time i add a coral lets me place it in ahappy place the first time plus i can compare colors at dif pars and so on . I got lucky and a buddy gave me his when he got out . But after haveing one if i broke it id buy another without hesitating

Yep I have RR bleeding avenger coming today I paid big$ for and would be stressed if I didn't know what I was hitting it with

I also bought one and is a very helpful tool to have for sure, especially running 10 t5 bulbs I want to get the most out of them and being able to check par is great.

Yep

One should never change to LEDs without a before and after reading.

Also a great way to check the age of T5s

Many would be simply shocked to see the difference between LED Fixtures like the AI or Ecotech compared to a 400 watt MH

Could you elaborate on the "many would be simply shocked" part? What do you mean? Shocked how?

Most don't know that at full power their PAR reading is only a 175 or 250watt mh equivalent.

Over a 30 deep tank they barley meet Sanjays recommended minimum PAR of 100 on the sand bed.
