O2 and vodka

My new setup has been running since september 2. I just started dosing vodka again since the NO3 is killing me. The new tank algae is slowly dissipating finally but the old growth needs to be starved soon otherwise it may get out of hand.
70 gallon with 29 sump probably 55 gallons total water with rock displacement.
I started with 1.0ml which I've read may be too high to start with as it can deplete O2.
I have so much surface flow I just don't see this happening so is there any other concerns with starting at a higher dose? I have a very oversized skimmer for a tank 4x the size.
Just looking for input just in case.

Do 1ml per 25gal and do it for a week straight.. Up the dose week 2 another 1ml.. Keep doing this for every week along with WC until number is reached and cut dosage in half.. Going slow should help see things before it goes down hill.

Also dose when tank lights have been on for a few hrs.. You can add a powerhead to break water surface if needed.

Note: Water will become clear which your lights will penetrate more IMO.. Vodka can also cause cyano in some tanks. Vingar is much better at 8ml per 25gals

The only time you will have issues with O2 is when you over dose.. Method above should be a smooth ride ;)

Try to run wet for a few weeks to help and watch your SG

I've never heard dosing while lights on, how does this affect it, PH swing? I have a day/night cycle with fuge so my PH stays within +/- .05 24/7
Good idea also for the powerhead since I've been dosing in sump and the carbon source might not get into all areas for bacterial growth. I'll do that.
I got lucky this startup with cyano. It grows like mad in my fuge which is what I wanted but it stays completely away from display.

Vodka shouldn't affect PH from what I know.. I know vingar will lower PH..

Hummm!! So you have cyano in your fuge?

"You can add a powerhead to break water surface if needed"

What's the deal with agitating the water surface? if for o2...wouldn't you get that with the skimmer?

As I said, surface flow is no problem with overflow, skimmer and return pointed at surface. I just read some horror story's.

I have 3000k 38par LED lights on fuge for 16 hours a day so a little cyano was expected also I like having it in a fuge since it helps with the NO3 it seems.

So far no problems with stony coral but I think my zoos are not liking the dosage. Other softies are fine but zoas, palys and protos haven't wanted to open as much since I started.
