Opinions needed!

I need some help weighing pros and cons on my next tank. I know some of you saw and replied to my previous thread of me getting back in, where I stated I wanted to be in the 120 range. After thinking about it further and discussing it with my favorite lfs I'm stuck between two tanks now. This is where I need help.
Do I go with:
A) 120 4x2x2 star fire and make it a sps tank
Or
B) 300 deep dimension 6'x3'x27" and make it a fowlr with higher end fish

I know many will say go with what I want the most but I keep going back and forth. Also space isn't an issue. Also a 300 sps (which I know some might suggest) isn't want I would want because I would think about getting a large angel or two.

Never having a fowlr and knowing how much of a chore my 120 sps tank can be, i'd be very tempted to do fowlr, maybe with a few hardy softies.

Which do you like more? Imo, even the nicest corals do not compare to a large angel, etc. Imo, a fowlr is much easier to maintain vs a reef tank, especially an sps tank, and will prob end up costing much less than the reef. Hell, if you want, through in some higher end, fake corals. Maybe even an insert of some kind. Jmo.

A large FOWLR with big fishes is very impressive... Tons of tangs triggers and angels has my vote. 120 is not an attractive size to me... Just my $.02

I've been though the gamet of FOWLR, and Reef tanks.Started with a 90 FOWLR, converted to a reef. Started with a 300 Freshwater, converted it to a Reef. Had a 180 FOWLR, Got rid of the non-reef safe fish put them in the 300, upsized the 300 to a 420, kept it a reef, went more sps dominant, but do still have it mixed. I was going to make the 300 a FOWLR to replace the 180.Got to the point I wanted to keep one tank, sold the 180 and 300.So for me the reef won out.A reef will be more time consuming, more $$ by a long shot and have a lot less room for error. It depends on how much time and money you want to commit. You are much more of a slave to a reef. FOWLR is much more hands off. Alot less to worry about and you can choose a large variety of fish.I choose to always bang my head against the wall and keep the reef.I think its a night and day difference time wise and $$. I guess it ends up being how committed you want to be to the tank. When I was younger, I don't think i could or would give up that much time. I'm retired now, so have alot more time to go around.Any way TMHO, hope it gives you some insight.

Thanks for all the input, new tank was ordered yesterday!
Will soon begin building the stand, sump and possibly canopy.
I may be starting a build thread, no sure yet.
