Powerhead feed for DIY Nano Skimmer?

I set up a little DIY Mame Skimmer using a PVC pipe for my Biocube that I want to improve.

I saw an interesting idea at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCdKfk6MD7g in regards to purring a water feed from a powerhead coming in through the top.

My question is what would be the best way to connect a powerhead to an airline sized tube?
 
get a Tom's Aqua Lifter? They're already airline size, but they are pretty slow. Or you can get push fitings from BRS that will reduce to a 1/4 OD push from just about any size.
 
Absolutely. And in this scenario it makes sure you are actually skimming more then just the same water in the skimmer tube over and over again.
