QUESTION: How to get rid of shaded spots

I finally was able to get a decent FTS yesterday, clearly you can see I got shading in some spots on the spires themselves. I'm just wondering what options do I have to help relieve this problem?

I'm running a Reef Breeders Photon 16(16 inches long) directly in the middle of the tank, would the Photon 24 be of any help in my case? Or is there another route I can go?

Leds r great but very directional probably no way to fix with led. Maybe t5 with good reflectors or a metal halide with a good reflector . Btw very cool scape

This was the first thing I thought about when I first saw your scape. While it looks really cool, I think you're going to have issues no matter what you do with lighting. It is only going to get worse as corals grow out. I have a a similar issue with my scape, and it isn't nearly as vertical as yours. While it looks cool, if I were in your shoes, I'd rebuild it. Sorry, that's all I've got.

I am assuming the back in not viewable? If it is possible I would suggest moving the light forward a couple inches and then mounting it on an angle face back towards the rock. That should help eliminate most shading on the front and sides of rockwork but will then make the back not lit.

I agree with this 100% I think you would be fine on 3 sides of the spires if you moved it forward and on an small angle. Awesome scape!

Hey thanks everyone for all your opinions and thanks for the compliments haha.

Rebuilding it would be an option but seeing that I have corals encrusted and having the tank established already I didn't know I was going to run into this situation until after I filled the tank.

I might consider going back to T5's and adding LED accent bars. Moving the fixture forward did do the trick as you guys have said since I've tried it but it honestly looked tacky ugly.

But thanks again for all your opinions! Anyone want to recommend me a nice T5 6 bulb fixture? Lol
