ReefKeeper SID v2.. Does anyone near the NW burbs have one?

I have been having a lot of problems with my ReefKeeper Lite lately. Strangely right around this whole 12-21-12 conspiracy.
I know the firmware is severely out of date, running on the initial 1.02 release! But I haven't experienced any issues with it until the last few days.
Recently it has completely frozen and been stuck at a certain time, while disconnecting the power to both PC4's. Sometimes a restart will not fix the issue.
When I tried to update it using the MyReef 2.0 and my launch version SID, I was informed that my type of SID is incompatible with MyReef 2.0. Thanks for keeping us v1's in mind.
Doing more research, I found out that Digital Aquatics is offering a program where you can mail your SID v1 in to have it upgraded in house to a v2. Or purchase a new v2 model for $25 + s/h.
Well as bogus as that is, having to pay to upgrade something when I was informed before hand that all firmware updates would roll out free.. I decided to see if someone on here has a v2 I can quickly use.
I would be willing to pay a few bucks to have it done immediately, my lights going out constantly is an urgent matter. I plan on shipping my SID v1 out, but I cant wait two weeks to get it back and fix this.

Please private message me or comment back on this post if you can help me out. I can drive to your place to pick up AND drop off the SID v2. Or you can just bring it here while I use it to upgrade quickly.

I don't have a spare. hopefully you can find one to borrow. the thought of not having a controller for a few weeks would be like the apocalypse really happened !

Yea I am going crazy already and it has only been a couple days. Digital Aquatics will be receiving a discontent message from me shortly. Free firmware, Ha.

I have yet to send my SID v1 to DA. I am very intrigued by this possible plan of yours though, however I just now was able to respond at 5:03 p.m. :boink:

BUT if you look closely there is NO date, just a time hehehe.

How fast do you need the SID?? I am an hour away from Algonquin, so driving is not a possibility for me anyway...........BUT that still does not REVEAL my plan.........

haHA! I missed that part, just got too excited and in the moment!
Well I have some of my necessities plugged in such as the heater, return pump, powerhead and T5's.
However the PhosBan reactor, kalkwasser, carbon reactor and additional pumps are not plugged in. Not an immediate issue but over a few days I will start to worry.
I would be willing to venture to you twice for an immediate cure to the bug while mine is sent in for an upgrade. But like you said, not now as traffic is horrendous with the incoming snow.
And there is still more to this plan!? I was hoping to find a rollback file like MyReef 1.0 or a firmware file that is newer than 1.02 but is still compatible with the SID v1.
 
Well This is the plan:

If I was to send one to you to use.....................and you accidentally kept it. I would be OK with that, although..................It would have to come snail mail and with the holiday it wouldnt make it until Wednesday or Thursday of next week. The only other stipulation I would place on this situation is as follows:

Sometime, somewhere you need to do a PIF doesnt have to be here and I am placing you on your honor to do this.

If you agree to this plan, PM me your info and I will make it happen.
