I'm trying to figure out how to integrate a refug into my system with a 10 gallon spare tank I have. I know there always a hang on option but would rather save some money and try to be able to do it with what I got. So if anyone has any kind of setup like this could you post up a pic and help me out with what I need besides the tank.
 
So this 10gal will be next to your sump? If so.. You will have to drill the side of the 10gal and use PVC with an elbow to drain into your current sump.. Use a MJ1200 to feed the 10gal.. See my crazy drawing to get an idea :D Also I have heard 10gal are not easy to drill and will crack..

No it would be run still with the same sump I have. Which runs (left to right) down through filter socks to a area which holds my skimmer heater and gfo pump, the goes through a sponge that helps with micro bubbles to my return pump area. But what I was thinking of doing is using my 10g tank I have laying around to make it the "refug" but I am unsure how to do it. I was thinking to connect it to the return pump area but not sure if it would work that way.
