Anyone install their filter in direct sunlight like me??? Just wondering if this will cause any problems. Thanks

Thats an idea! Thanks. But now im thinking about all that algae dying in the dark now...
 
I'd replace the filter that has algae growing on it and clean the canister and then wrap a section of black trash bag around it to keep out the sunlight. With the trash bag you can still have visibility to the canister to see how your filter is faring and if you need to replace it soon.
